Hakko Densho Ryu Gasshuku
Semi-annually: June and November

The HMAF Gasshuku is held on the west coast in the spring and the east coast in the fall. At the HMAF Gasshuku, Hakko Densho Ryu practitioners as well as martial artists from all different arts gather to train together. Attendance by all HMAF members is strongly encouraged though you don't have to be a member of HMAF to attend.

We encourage all Suigetsu students to attend. The Gasshuku gives us the opportunity to share our lives for a specific period of time and strengthen our bond through training. This unique opportunity includes many hours of intense training and hands-on instruction with senior students in the details of technique. In the spirit of togetherness, we also schedule several social opportunities for attendees. This is also an opportunity to make new friends among the many visiting martial artists who attend this event.

The annual November Gasshuku is held here at Suigetsu Dojo and runs from Friday evening through Sunday afternoon. It offers 12 hours of detailed, intensive training and lots of social time for networking.

A special one hour seminar is provided for children ages 5 - 12. During this class, children experience the magic of Hakko Densho Ryu Jujutsu as they are shown some of the same techniques practiced by the black belts.

The annual June Gasshuku is held at the hombu dojo in northern California. This group trip provides additional intense training and is a great travel bonding experience and opportunity to meet and train with other martial artists.

Iaido Seminar and Rank Promotions
Annually, usually in the spring

This annual event provides a weekend of intensive iaido training with Masi Shihan, during which rank promotions are held for all who have been invited to test for promotion. It is a time of spirited training for iaido students, and also a great opportunity for those interested in the sword to sample this art.
