Black Belt Program

It is said that receiving your black belt means that you have a solid understanding of the basics. Our extensive black belt curriculum contains material to challenge the black belt to achieve a level of training not experienced at the lower ranks.

Adult Black Belts (age 18 and up)

There are 4 black belt ranks in Hakko Densho Ryu Jujutsu, followed by 4 purple belt ranks. Students may train to attain the highest possible rank given in Hakko Densho Ryu.

Jr Black Belts (age 12 - 17)

At Suigetsu Dojo, we have a curriculum specifically designed to challenge our young adults. At the junior level, students are expected first to acquire all adult kyu techniques not included in the junior curriculum before beginning the actual black belt curriculum. Once the student reaches the age of 18, he or she must have mastered the entire kyu level curriculum and be able to demonstrate it with adult precision. At that time, the next rank will be the adult rank equivalent to the student's current path.

Adult Kyu Program

KelapireThe core program of Suigetsu Dojo is Hakko Densho Ryu Jujutsu training. It is a holistic fitness program that builds strength, stamina, flexibility, balance, coordination, and spirit. Training offers the benefits of self-defense, stress-reduction, self-empowerment, and the personal satisfaction that comes with making a positive change in your life.

ADULT CLASSES are held at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels each week. Classes are designed to challenge the student both mentally and physically. Each class consists of warmup, stretching, exercise, basic self defense techniques, and an in depth presentation and practice of Jujutsu. Our philosophy at Suigetsu Dojo is one of cooperation. The environment is not one of competition. The only competition is within yourself. We encourage our students to train hard and train often! Students may select any day of the week to train and are encouraged to experience every class that is offered within their rank.

Children's Kyu Program

kidsA positive, disciplined, and nurturing environment is essential to a child's ability to learn and grow into a healthy adult. Our professional instructors provide a culture of respect, discipline, and cooperation that feeds a child's innate desire to be a good and healthy person. Our comprehensive program incorporates step-by-step skill-building using games and fun exercises to stimulate the mind, exercise the body, and create life skills.

Children's classes are specially designed for our younger Dojo members, ages 4 through 12. These classes are disciplined, yet at the same time contain an enjoyable atmosphere in which the children may learn. Classes based on rank and age are offered, providing each child a unique training environment. We strive to develop mental, emotional, and physical strength in our children. As we watch the children progress in our program, we see consistent growth in their confidence, self-discipline, and focus. Our children's program includes daily classes, birthday parties, special children's seminars, and many other events throughout the year such as Night of the Samurai (a sleep over). Within the children's program, there are separate classes for beginners, intermediate, and advanced ranks. Please see the schedule for specific days and times for each class.

Teen Kyu Program

moisanuTeens (young adults ages 12 to 19) enjoy training in an environment with their peers. Weekly teen classes encourage teenagers to build strong peer relationships in a fun and safe environment.

Teenagers have their own unique training program at our dojo. In addition to being welcome in all adult classes, we offer a weekly Teen Class. This fast-paced, high energy class is designed especially for our teens. It includes all of the techniques from our regular Jujutsu classes presented in a unique way and with a teen perspective.
